Save function

You have probably got this on your list already. But are you going to add a Save game? It would be nice to start a day and save it. And come back to it later.

Planned for a future release, so to speak. But we've put it now on the "Issue list", so now it's kind of official.

Great.  Since CTC doesn't finish at the end of each day (go on to the next), being able to save will be really needed.

I finally finished a full 24 hours.  I pause it a few times and came back to it later. I did make some route misstakes. And was left with a few fragments. I just consider them as out of service :).

Looking forward runing 3.9.

Not sure what you mean by "doesn't finish at the end of each day".

TDP had an end time (besides a start time) in the territory data and the simulator would then just stop.

In CTC we decided to eliminate the end time and just let it go until the player decides to stop. I don't see what the fact that CTC doesn't finish has to do with saving the data or why it really would be needed because of this.

Nevertheless, I recognize the value to save the game and continue at another time, and I wish I had it already.

I'm glad CTC doesn't have an end time like TD did. You are right it really doesn't have anything to do with save game. I was trying to say (and badly) that the save feature in TD wasn't as important since it had an end time. CTC doesn't have an end time. Which I like. It always bother me in  TD if I had a bunch of trains to sort out (mainly because I messed up) and the game ended. So I didn't have the fun of untangling my mess.

A save feature in CTC will be more important. Because we will be able to just keep running a game forever. I know you are working to add features to CTC. And I will enjoy them when you add them.

BTW, Cancel a route works great in v3.9. So far I haven't ended up with fragments that I couldn't clear up. Good job!!!

Right you are. There was one territory for TDP where the program stopped and there was still one train to re-enter the territory in its final leg. And that was by design (i.e. scheduling)!

Untangling a mess is indeed something I enjoy, too. Ever tried "Realtime"? If the current time (on the PC) is later - way later - than the regular start time, you'll have all the trains which are supposed to run between start time and now waiting for you when you finally show up for work...

No, I haven't tried real time. But I'm going to now. Sounds awful crowded and fun.

The save function - and more importantly - the load function are now available in CTC 3.10
