Upgrading
« on: April 03, 2015, 10:22:44 AM »
If I purchased a registration code for the program, do the territories automatically upgrade to the "Standard" version from the "Free" version?  Or do I need to download all of the territories again to make them "Standard"?

No, for the simple reason, that CTC does not do the downloading.

Each territory file contains all versions, free, standard, or premium. CTC picks up the highest version for which you have the registration code in your system.

By going into Help -> About this Territory you can see what version of the territory you've loaded: The title bar displays a text like "About this Standard Scene" (or "free" or "premium").

Occasionally we have updates for the territory files to take advantage of new features of CTC, for instance 3.17 added the trigger function (buzzer), and the trigger locations are defined in the scene data, and there may be some territory files that don't have all of the three versions included, or may not have in the past. So it is not a bad idea to re-download the territory files if you haven't downloaded them for a while.

We announce updates of territories in this forum - that's when you should download them again (we try to make changes to CTC compatible with older territory versions, so you really don't have to).

On our website we're planning to do same changes on the download page, e.g. put some more territory-specific information. Your question got me the idea to put in the date of the most recent update there.

FYI - The last update on any territory file happened on 11/5/2014.
