Not by itself. if you run over misaligned switches (pass on red over trailing-point switches), they may be damaged, and you need to send a maintenance crew to at least inspect the switches and make necessary repairs.
Tracks in regular blocks can deteriorate, even if not in use, so they need to be repaired.
It is up to you to send a crew for repairs. Until it is fixed, routes cannot be set affecting damaged switches, and CTC enforces speed restrictions on bad tracks.
