General Discussion / Re: Train stopped in block
« Last post by tomwhite56 on April 25, 2022, 01:41:30 PM »
This has happened several times now.  I don't believe I was correct in the first place when I said I had routed the train.  These are coming from BK (directed by the BK dispatcher who asks for the entrance point),  and going out to BL, whatever that is, and becoming another train.  I have a game in a saved state and a screenshot.  How do I send them to customer service?

Thank you!

There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers...

There are three possibilities to get into a stuck situation with no apparent way to get out: either it is the dispatchers fault, a problem in the schedule, or a problem in the software.

For this territory, you should be able to get any train out of B583 (between BL and BK) after a scheduled stop has completed. It may be tricky though if you have too much traffic or if a misroute happened.

To analyze it further, we would need at least a list of trains (schedules) involved in this. Better yet, if you run the standard or premium version of the territory, you can save the game state, and send the saved file to customer service. and we can try to determine what the situation is - and how to get out of it.

CTC Suggestions / Another suggestion

On the territory USA BNSF San Bernardino E Los Angeles - Riverside 2021.ctc, there is no indication of where "Corona" is located.  I suggest adding the word "Corona" below the yard in the same way as "Pico Rivera" is marked out further west on the line.  A train is entering the yard in question as seen in the attachment.

Thanks again!

Switch W143, which allows the train from C2 onto the mainline, has a speed limit of 3 mph for all train types. It will accelerate once W143 has been cleared.

I started to post that on this territory I have noticed that any train coming out of C2 (Mormon) and heading south moves up to the mainline at no faster than 3 mph and sometimes at 1.6 mph.  I found, however, than if I saved and closed and restarted the problem went away.  I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but I wanted to put it out there.

Thank you in advance.

I have a suggestion.  Is there any reason why the actual speed of a train can't appear in the information window  below the date and time, etc.?  I think it would be helpful.

CTC Manual / New Additions
« Last post by DPump on March 21, 2022, 09:00:30 AM »
The manual has been update to include the new sections
  • Link Maintenance Tool
  • Filters
Also some detailed info for slip switches and crossings has been added.

The plan is to have some pages be displayed with your favorite web browser pressing a help key "F1" from within the CTC program. Because the pages need to be present before coding into CTC when you want to invoke them, the updates in the manual are made before the update in CTC. However, since some adjustments have been done to make the manual and the program consistent, you may see some details in the manual different than from the program, which have been coded already (to get the screenshots) but are not released yet.

The filter area is an example where you will see the program behave as stated - and also some errors corrected - in the manual with the next version (5.9) of CTC.
